Trevor J Resnick, MD

Dr. Trevor J. Resnick is a pediatric neurologist and serves as associate medical director of the Epilepsy Program with the Department of Neurology, part of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Neuroscience Institute. In his role as medical director, Dr. Resnick is responsible for setting the strategy, as well as overseeing all clinical care, quality metrics, teaching, research and fiscal planning for the Epilepsy and Neurophysiology Program. He also acts as a clinical professor of Neurology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine/Florida International University in Miami.

Dr. Resnick earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town Faculty of Health Sciences in South Africa. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut Medical Center/UConn Health in Farmington. He pursued a fellowship in neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Resnick then furthered his training with a fellowship in electrophysiology at the same institution. His clinical interests include epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr. Resnick has been part of the Nicklaus Children’s Medical Staff since 1985 and previously served as chief of the Department of Neurology, chairman of the Quality Improvement Committee, chairman of the Pharmacy Committee and participated on the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Resnick is board certified in general pediatrics and child neurology. He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society and American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Resnick has authored numerous scientific publications and edited books and journal supplements. He is a member of editorial boards of pediatric and neurology journals and lectures widely in North America. His research interests have focused on the neurodevelopmental correlates of chronic epilepsy and the use of neurodiagnostic techniques for seizure localization and semiology.

Dr. Resnick is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
