Fernando Molina Berganza, MD

Dr. Fernando Molina Berganza is a pediatric and prenatal cardiologist with the Nicklaus Children’s Heart Institute. He earned his medical degree from Dr. Jose Matias Delgado University in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. Dr. Berganza completed a residency in pediatrics at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following residency, he pursued a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Hofstra University/Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Berganza’s clinical interests include prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart defects, single ventricle outcomes, thrombosis prevention in congenital heart defects, preventive cardiology and exercise stress tests for congenital heart defects.

Dr. Berganza joins Nicklaus Children's from the Driscoll Children's Heart Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he served for five years as a pediatric cardiologist. He is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. Dr. Berganza is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Academy of Pediatrics. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at medical conferences.
 
Dr. Berganza is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
