Dr. Eric J. Stelnicki is a board-certified plastic, reconstructive, and craniofacial surgeon within the Division of Plastic Surgery at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree with high honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Dr. Stelnicki completed a residency in general surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, followed by a residency in plastic surgery at the same institution. He also completed fellowship training in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery at New York University Medical Center/NYU Langone Health in New York City, as well as additional research and clinical training in wound healing, molecular biology, and fetal surgery at the University of California San Francisco.

His clinical interests include cleft lip and palate repair, craniofacial reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, treatment of craniosynostosis, and reconstructive procedures for pediatric and adult patients.

Prior to joining Nicklaus Children’s, Dr. Stelnicki served as medical director and surgeon in pediatric plastic surgery at Pediatrix Medical Group and held leadership roles at the national level. He is the founder of The Atlantic Center for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and the founder of the Cleft and Craniofacial Center at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Stelnicki is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, and American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He has held academic appointments at multiple institutions and has participated in clinical education and training.

Dr. Stelnicki is employed by  Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
