Dr. Daniel Ruggles is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Orthopedic, Sports Health and Spine Institute. He earned his medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ruggles completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, as well as a four-month fellowship in limb lengthening and reconstruction at the International Limb Lengthening Center in Baltimore, Maryland. His clinical interests include pediatric fractures and growth plate injuries, and he specializes in limb lengthening and alignment correction of congenital and acquired conditions. 
 
Dr. Ruggles is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgery (AOAO), participates on the AOAO CME committee, and is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. Dr. Ruggles spent more than three years of his career working overseas for CURE International, where he served as medical director of the CURE Hospital in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as well as provided care in Haiti, Zambia and the Philippines. He lectures at national and international medical conferences and helps to develop innovative orthopedic devices and implants as an industry consultant.
 
Dr. Ruggles is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System.
